About the 2024 BC Child Poverty Report Card
This year marks 35 years since the federal government’s 1989 pledge to end child poverty in Canada. For 28 years, First Call and SPARC BC have released this report alongside Campaign 2000’s national report card, highlighting child and family poverty in BC.
A compelling Special Insert on the experiences of single mothers navigating the challenges of poverty is included in this year’s Report Card. Also included: actionable recommendations for tax fairness, income supports, targeted initiatives, and robust universal programs to reduce poverty and improve lives are also part of the Report Card.
Please feel free to share the 2024 BC Child Poverty Report Card widely. Together, we can make a difference.
