Spotlight: Child Welfare is a collaborative journalism project that aims to deepen and improve reporting on B.C.’s child welfare system. Their goals are to produce in-depth, nuanced, data-driven and solutions‑oriented reporting about B.C.’s child‑welfare system, and to develop a model for collaborative journalism projects that folks can use in other regions or issue areas.
If you want to get involved, there are many ways to support the project. For example, Spotlight: Child Welfare created surveys for biological parents, extended family caregivers, foster parents and support workers to learn more about the level of support each receives from the government. If you know anyone who might like to share their experience, please share this call-out.
