Skin-to-Skin Short Film Resource

In case you missed it, the Heart of Touch Community released a short film educating about the benefits of skin-to-skin. In the healthy newborn, skin-to-skin refers to holding the newborn immediately after birth, on the mother or caretaker’s bare chest in an upright position. The practice should be uninterrupted for several hours. For complicated newborns, skin-to-skin should be prioritized when medically stable. There are many benefits to the baby, including accelerated brain development and enhanced immune system. It also helps the parents with increased bonding and reduced risk of postpartum depression for the Mom.
