Poverty Reduction Coalition launches Community Action Network and training

The Poverty Reduction Coalition has launched the Community Action Network, a community-based network of folks with the lived experience of poverty who wish to collaborate with the PRC and benefit from a new leadership training program. The CAN initiative will hold an initial leadership program including workshops in public speaking, media training and more, starting October 6th, 2017, in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside neighbourhood.

The CAN network is seeking youth with the lived experience of poverty to join, as well as  families and parents who have experienced poverty, adults who experienced child poverty, and parents with childcare struggles. A Registration Info Session about the leadership training program will be held at the Carnegie Community Centre in Vancouver on September 16th.
