New Indigenous populations, housing, and immigration census data

Statistics Canada has released new census data on immigration and ethno-cultural diversity, housing and Indigenous peoples. In a summary of the data, the government states that Indigenous children accounted for 7.7% of all children aged 0 to 4, and about one‑half of all foster children in this age group. In every province and territory, higher percentages of children aged 0 to 4 were Indigenous than the total population in the region.
