Surrey is currently experiencing a birth rate of 480 babies per month, which is the equivalent to adding half a kindergarten class each day and a whole elementary school a month. Given the incredible growth in the young children and family population in Surrey, and that EDI data suggests 31% of children are entering kindergarten vulnerable, in addition to building schools, what is your immediate action and long-term plan to ensuring that children and families have the supports and services (e.g., child care, parenting programs) they need to thrive? How will you fund your plans?
