Better Man Film and High School Learning Kit Available

Canadian teachers have the opportunity to ignite challenging, necessary discussions about intimate partner violence, thanks to feature documentary A Better Man. The film offers a fresh and nuanced look at the healing and revelation that can happen for everyone involved when men take responsibility for their abuse. In the film, writer and co-director Attiya Khan confronts her high school boyfriend 20 years later about the daily abuse he inflicted on her during the two years they lived together. The National Film Board Education and Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation put together a high school learning kit to help explore signs of an unhealthy relationship, emotional literacy, approaches to justice, and representations of violence against women in media.
