Basic Income Feedback Form

On July 3, 2018 the Province announced the creation of an expert committee to study the potential for using a basic income approach in its efforts to reduce poverty and prepare for the emerging economy. Organizations and individuals with an interest in basic income are invited to share their input between November 15, 2018 to February 15, 2019 either by email (BCPovertyReduction@gov.bc.ca) or using the feedback form.

In Campaign 2000’s Bold Ambitions for Child and Family Poverty Eradication report, they believe that Basic Income must be designed to eradicate poverty and contribute to reducing income inequality by raising the income floor. It must complement a strong program of public and social services, a well-developed strategy to create quality jobs, and robust employment standards that support families to escape poverty’s multiple dimensions.
